Caroline Maddrell

Caroline is our Director of Gaming Services and is responsible for the oversight of licensing, AML/CFT and consultancy services. She is committed to enhancing the compliance monitoring program for clients, collaborating on the development of compliance policies and best practices and ensuring the effective monitoring of risk areas within products and services, applying a pragmatic approach to compliance.

With a background as a chartered accountant at KPMG in 2007, she gained valuable insights into the gaming industry, managing audit portfolios for various gaming clients. In 2010, Caroline transitioned to PokerStars, contributing significantly to the Internal Audit function, which included completing a number of complex IIA-compliant risk-based internal audits, together with SOX and ICFR projects ahead of its NASDAQ listing. Following the acquisition of SkyBetting and Gaming (SBG), Caroline worked closely within the CEO’s team to lead risk management projects and assist with SBG’s integration into the newly formed Stars Group. As her interest in risk and compliance developed, she took on the position of Secretary for the Group’s Compliance Committee and began holding department Head roles in Corporate Integrity and more latterly, Risk and Compliance.

Caroline has supported her work experience with complementary qualifications, including International Compliance Association diplomas in Compliance & Risk and Financial Crime Prevention, Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing, and an advanced diploma in International Enterprise Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management.
