As we continue to expand and develop our offering and client base, we are seeking a qualified accountant to join our accounting team in Amber Gaming to support us in continually delivering and exceeding our excellent service levels.

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified or experienced Accountant to join our vibrant team within a well-established service provider to regulated companies on the island. You will be involved in overseeing a portfolio of licensed and unlicensed entities within the Gaming, IP & digital technologies industries across a range of jurisdictions including the Isle of Man, UK, Malta & Jersey.

You will have the opportunity to: 

  • Prepare monthly gambling duty returns, quarterly regulatory return submissions, statutory accounts and audit liaison;
  • Assist in the company licensing processes, contract resolution, company structuring and VAT accounting;
  • Analyse accounting problems, organise assigned work and to develop effective working methods;
  • Support the individual needs of team members and provide mentoring, coaching and support
  • Prepare financial records from source documents maintained by the client or client manager;
  • Compile Statutory financial statements for a variety of entity types across multiple jurisdictions;
  • Utilise various accounting packages and information systems;
  • Raise and resolve queries with clients and client managers;
  • Liaise with colleagues in other departments and jurisdictions.

About You

You will be a Chartered or Certified Accountant or have at least three years relevant accounting experience in a corporate service provider or similar environment.

You will have strong knowledge of principles, methods and procedures used in modern accounting and the ideal candidate will be ACA / ACCA Qualified (or equivalent) with experience of preparing client accounts. A knowledge and awareness of the e-gaming landscape would be advantageous, though not essential for the role.

As you will use various accounting packages and software, strong computer literacy is essential. The following attributes would be advantageous:

  • Experience of working within an accounts or audit environment;
  • Excellent organisation skills and high attention to detail;
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • Experience of working on NAVOne, Xero cloud accounting package, CCH accounting software and Jobstream would be an advantage;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and manage workloads in accordance with timelines;
  • Amenable to working at bookkeeping level due to transactional and complex nature of gambling structures;
  • A flexible approach to workflow management and adaptable to change;
  • The ability to demonstrate continued professional development.

Mike is responsible for managing our accounting team and for developing our accounting services. He is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (FCCA) and has a degree in Business Studies BA(hons) with the University of Derby.

Mavis Nyawai - Accountant

Mavis is a Certified Chartered Accountant with several years’ audit experience with one of the ‘Big Four’ firms. She is responsible for completing all aspects of our accounting services for gaming and digital technology clients including management accounts, regulatory returns and statutory financial statements. 

Eloise Cain - Trainee Accountant

Eloise is our Trainee Accountant and is responsible for the accounting services for a number of gaming and digital technology clients, this includes statutory financial statements, management accounts, regulatory returns and audit preparation. 

Samantha Gribbin - Accounting Technician

Samantha is part of our Accounting team as an Accounting Technician, supporting a portfolio of gaming clients. She had previously had 9.5 years in a fund and investment company as an Account Assistant.
