It aims to bring together industry experts to share their insights on creating a safer, more responsible gaming environment. With perspectives from operators, compliance leaders, and tech innovators, the series provides actionable strategies and inspiring discussions to drive positive change in the industry.

“I’m a big believer in not only looking at the customer; I’m a big believer in looking at the people next to you, looking for signs of harm, changes in behavior, because we have a responsibility to ourselves and our employees as much as we do the customers.”
“What I’m seeing a lot at the moment is a fundamental lack of evidence-based regulation. So, when we’re talking about protecting players, a lot is being done on hunches of, ‘we think this is the right thing to do,’ as opposed to, ‘we’ve done A/B testing, we’ve trialed different controls and mechanisms, and we’ve actually demonstrated that this is the more effective one.”
“Safer gambling is not a negative thing. People are not going to stop gambling, nor should they have to. We need to provide the environment which is the safest it can be. We need to prevent people from going to alternatives and provide them the support that they need. There’s a lot of regulation in this space, and the unfortunate thing is we actually don’t know what is and what is not working.”
“Safer gambling isn’t an afterthought, it’s not an add-on; it should be inherent in any form of gambling across the business. If we embraced this, we would see a huge change in how our customers are looked after, and hopefully, we would see a reduction in any kind of gambling-related harm.”
“The whole philosophy of imatta is trying for it to be as preventative as possible rather than reactive. So, this includes bringing treatment upstream, identifying individuals who are struggling with problematic gambling issues, and understanding what comorbidities they may have.”
